Watching Green Sea Turtles sunning on Punalu'u Beach, Hawaii. Punalu'u is one of the Big Island's black sand beaches and a location where Green Sea Turtles come ashore to sun themselves. We saw about 10 turtles at once coming, sunning, and going.

Snorkeling at night off the Kona coast of Hawaii with Manta Rays. Lights under floats draw in plankton which in turn attract the Mantas to feed. Just float and watch. The Mantas don't make noise; any squeals, dolphin sounds or alien speech you hear is my wife being very excited.

About 70 miles offshore of Virginia on the Rudee Whaler for a Pelagic Wildlife Exploration tour. We encountered a Mola Mola or Ocean Sunfish basking sideways on the surface. It also gave us a brief upright swim before disappearing.

The FM-2 Wildcat from the Military Aviation Museum on a weekend flight in 2018 (I forgot to download this from my camcorder). Built in 1944, this particular airplane is notable for having been based at Pungo Naval Outer Landing Field in July of 1945, only 3 miles from the museum. The FM-2 Wildcats were built by General Motors rather than Grumman.

The Military Aviation Museum flying it's P-40 E Warhawk on October 10, 2020. It was overcast and rainy, so the flight footage suffered. This P-40 was restored by the museum's Fighter Factory and AVSPECS in New Zealand from a wreck recovered in Murmansk, Russia (where it would have been a "Kittyhawk"). Driving 3 days after the 2018 bomb cyclone snowstorm. Virginia snow removal isn't what it is in places that routinely deal with snow. The plow guys are working their butts off trying to keep things clear, but the local cities are not going to win any awards for snow clearing.

Charity Laps this year benefited the Salvation Army. This is the last run session of the day and by far the smallest. Oddly, the first laps of the session were the best clip, even with cold tires.Lots of fun, as always, and for a good cause.

Gnome Omega rotary engine, stand mounted for display, started and run by the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is an actual rotary where the propeller and cylinders rotate as a unit around the pistons. While common in WW I aircraft, it is a difficult engine to fly and messy, so almost all period replicas are fitted with radial engines instead.

Увы, это реплика... Мотор тоже Merlin кажется на нём стоит. В 90-х сделали ограниченую серию в 100 шт. Один, некондиционный остался в России. Но очень здорово, что они до сих пор в небе. Пусть завидуют, что у Нас был Такой аппарат, а мы будем завтдовать, что сейчас они есть у них.

@@britton1330 From what I can find, the Carthage bird is a non-flying replica that is part of a monument for Lt. Robert Hoyle Upchurch who was a Carthage native who died in 1944 while a pilot for the Flying Tigers. An article says the replica was restored in 2015 as an Eagle Scout project. It looks to have the Flying Tigers color and shark face but US Army Air Forces late war insignia.

The warhawk was a very good fighter. I was very good friends with a p40 pilot. That was in operation torch. And was involved in the palm Sunday massacre. He was in the black scorpion unit of the 57 th fighter group. They kicked nazi ass.
A P40 does have nice lines. Visibility would have been better with a canopy something like what the Corsair had..
Crazy. Thinking the plane helped keep our freedom, but look how close we are towards communism, wearing masks like good little citizens.
That engine sounds like it has a beefed up cam in it, and much higher compression than original. Probably about 50 percent more power than new. That's a very modern sound with the spitting and sputtering and the fact that it idles like crap screams he put a cam in it.

I'll never forget my first landing in a tail dragger. As soon as I touche I said "Tower-Cub 4279 down at 1:10 even" I bounced I don't know how many times I bounced but every time I did the instructor is on the radio "Tower Cub 4279 down at 1310:04....1310:07...1310: 08...9... Cub 4279 Requesting taxi instructions" The controller was laughing so hard It took him as long to get started talking as it did me to get the tail on the ground

Unfortunately, the museum told me the US rules are pretty restrictive on low, high speed passes.
Sickens me when I hear how great the zero was. You take this plane strip it like the japs did to the zero and it would fly rings around it American kids in the PI flew them right out of their crates into combat with ZERO flight time in the plane and shot zeros and bombers down. We suffered more losses in crashes to land then were shot down.
